Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are you a registered dietitian or a nutritionist in Oregon?

All members of our team are plant-based, registered dietitians accredited by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

We do not have a state-specific license, for example, an Oregon licensed registered dietitian, since we are permitted to practice as Nutrition Experts in Oregon.

  • What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?

Here is the main difference between a registered dietitian and a nutritionist:

    Dietitian:

Typically, dietitians require a degree in nutrition or a related field. They must undergo specialized training, pass a comprehensive exam from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), and engage in ongoing education to maintain their designation. Only individuals who have completed the requisite education and training can use the titles “Registered Dietitian” (RD) or “Registered Dietitian Nutritionist” (RDN).

    Nutritionist:

Conversely, the title “nutritionist” is not as rigorously defined. While some nutritionists hold degrees in nutritional science, others may lack substantial formal education in the field. In certain regions, the title “nutritionist” can be used by anyone, regardless of their educational background or training.

Our team of plant-based dietitians (RD) has undertaken extensive studies in nutrition. We occasionally use the title ‘nutritionist’ to enable clients to find us online, since ‘nutritionist’ is a more commonly used name.

  • Do you do in-person consultations in Oregon?

Unfortunately, at this time, we are limited to offering consultations exclusively online via Zoom.

This decision arises from the fact that our clients seeking plant-based advice represent a smaller segment.

Our main objective is to expand our assistance to a wider variety of individuals across Oregon, with a particular focus on plant-based nutrition.

  • Do you provide dietitian insurance receipts for the services offered in Oregon?

At present, we are functioning exclusively as nutritionists and nutrition experts within the state of Oregon.

We have opted not to seek individual Oregon licensing for our registered dietitians. Consequently, we cannot provide insurance receipts for registered dietitian services in Oregon

  • How fast can I start seeing my Plant-Based rd?

We prefer to see people within less than a week.

Book your initial assessment directly to save time and get started as soon as possible.

  • How many online consultations do I need with my vegan nutritionist?

Let’s figure out the best plan for you together! The number of chats we’ll have depends on what you’re looking to achieve and where you’re starting from.

Usually, we catch up with folks about five times a year.

Some people might only need a few talks, while others like to check in every week for a while.

Why not book a first call with us? It’s a no-pressure way to get to know each other and start crafting a plan that’s all about you and your needs.
