Dietitians, requiring a college degree and special training, must pass a comprehensive test from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and engage in ongoing learning to maintain their “Registered Dietitian” (RD) or “Registered Dietitian Nutritionist” (RDN) title.
Nutritionist:
The term “nutritionist” is less strict, with varied educational backgrounds among individuals using the title, and in some regions, it’s available to anyone regardless of their educational or professional training.
Note: Our plant-based telehealth team members are all federally accredited registered dietitians, meeting stringent educational and CDR exam standards.
