How it works

The process is simple

There are two ways to get started:

  • Option 1 – Direct booking:  Consult the biographies of the dietitians in your area, the various services offered and the fees/packages. Then access the dietitian’s schedule and book directly with them.
  • Option 2 – Discovery call: Book a 5-20 min free discovery call (phone or Zoom) with Alyssa Fontaine, Vegan dietitian, and Founder. She’ll answer your questions and pair you up with the most suitable dietitian.

All our dietitians are vegetarian or vegan for their health, the environment or for animal ethics.

Alyssa Fontaine, the company’s founder, is a vegan dietitian who started building the company in 2019. She felt there was a need for dietitians to focus on plant-based nutrition.

Our recommendations are based on our experience and extensive training in plant-based nutrition. Over the years, our team has acquired solid experience with vegetarian and vegan customers.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer insurance receipts?

We will provide you with an insurance receipt for nutritionist/dietitian services along with our licence number to practice at the end of each meeting.

  • Do you do direct billing? Or can you give me an insurance recipt?

At this time, we do not offer direct billing. You will be responsible for ensuring that you are covered for nutritionist and dietitian services. You will receive an insurance receipt at the end of each session and you can submit it to your insurance.

  • What if I don’t like my dietitian?

Please contact the account coordinator. We will be happy to transfer you to a new dietitian. All of our notes are in the same client system, your new dietitian will be able to access your file and start where you left off with your last dietitian, ensuring a smooth transition.

  • How many appointments will I need?

Some clients come to us for a few sessions and some see us for a year or more for more accountability and support. We will be able to give you a better idea during the free discovery call as this will vary between individuals. We tailor our packages to customer needs.

  • How long are the sessions?

Sessions last one hour or thirty minutes. The last 5 minutes of the 30 minutes and the last 10 minutes of the consultation hour will be used by the dietitian to complete her notes, do the billing, and send you any materials you have discussed.

  • Are all the sessions online?

Yes. Sessions usually take place on Zoom, and if you prefer, we can do it over the phone. We use the excellent Practice Better software for scheduling, communication, and invoicing. Once you start with us, you will have access to your Practice Better client portal and a zoom link will be created for your sessions.

  • Do you give meals plans?

Yes, we create personalized meal plans with you using the That Clean Life and Nutrium apps. You will receive your meal right after the session. We ask that you do an initial assessment before creating the meal plan, this is necessary as we are dietitians and need to ensure that we know your goals, medical history, current intake, and preferences before making any recommendations.

  • Do you take on clients who are not 100% plant-based/vegan?

We can help anyone who is flexitarian, vegetarian, vegan, or vegetarian. Our approach is to respect the customer’s desires and diet. We aim to help you gain knowledge and change your habits to help you achieve your goals.
